Purchasing a home is a very personal experience and means different things to different people. I want people to feel at home and comfortable at Novalend. It’s a place of business but it’s also a place where our clients can come and feel at ease whilst discussing their finances.

The name Novalend comes from my home province of Nova Scotia, with Nova meaning new. So the name itself means New Lend. When people come to us we hope to help them obtain a new home or a new arrangement for their existing debt to ensure they are in the best possible position to help achieve their goals.

My hope is to someday get Novalend to the point that it’s a household name that people trust and turn to for guidance and assistance in the finance industry.

I come from a long line of entrepreneurs. My dad and uncle own a building company together that they started in their 20s, my great-grandfather started a family owned and operated dairy farm that saw raw milk products go from farm to table, and a few of my cousins have also started companies in their respective industries. It only made sense to start my own mortgage company and it was important to me that the company’s values were rooted in family, trust and transparency.

With a Bachelor of Commerce from St. Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, I’ve always been passionate about finance, accounting, and management. Interestingly, I also hold a diploma in electrical studies and spent some time working as an electrician—a unique twist in my career path that taught me the value of hard work and precision.
